Lets us make something really tasty and yummy this time. From mummy's kitchen everyone's favorite "Kheer" also known as "Rice pudding".
Ingredients:
1/4 cup rice (washed & drained)
4-5 cups milk
2-3 cardamom seeds (crushed)
2tbs almonds (blanched silvered)
A pinch of saffron, soaked in a little hot milk
1 tbs skinned pistachios nuts (chopped)
1 tbs raisins (optional)
2-3 tbs sugar or as desired
Mehthod:
Put the rice,milk and cardamom in a pan, bring to boil and
simmer gently until the rice is soft and the grains are starting to break up.
Add almonds, pistachios, saffron and raisins and simmer for 3-4 minutes
Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved (on high flame)
Remove the kheer from the gas and serve it hot or either cold.
